Chapter 5 · Connecting your tools / 5.12
X
Let Rally read public posts, threads, replies and List timelines on X.
The X connector lets Rally read what is public on X (the service once called Twitter) for research and keeping an eye on things. It only reads. It will not post your hot takes for you, however good they are.
What it is
On Settings → Connections the card is called Public X via TwitterAPI.io. That name tells you how it works: Rally reads public X content through TwitterAPI.io, an outside service Rally arranges. It does not use your X account, and nobody signs in to X.
With it connected, Rally can read:
- a person's timeline of posts
- the whole thread a post belongs to
- the replies to a post
- the timeline of a public X List
It cannot post, like, follow or send messages, and it cannot see anything private.
Connecting
X is Organization only, so an owner or administrator sets it up once for everyone.
- Open Settings → Connections and find the Public X via TwitterAPI.io card.
- Click Connect for organization. There is no sign-in step.
- The connection appears in the Organization connections table.
The card is offered only in regions where this service is set up. If your Organization's region does not have it, the card is missing or says Unavailable. That is not a fault, and there is nothing to fix.
Things to try
- "What has our company's X account posted this week, and which post got the most replies?"
- "Read the thread from this link and summarise the argument."
- "What are people replying to the launch announcement?"
When a post is missing
- Check the account, post or List is public and still on X.
- Check the Status of the X connection in Settings → Connections.
- Give Rally the post's full public link or the exact account name and try again.
